Over the years, ever since I began to be interested in meditation, I have often tried to watch myself go to sleep. Not with any great success, mind you, but it’s still an interesting experiment to try.

I’ve gotten to the point when thoughts slow down, when I have a solid awareness of myself as body and mind for a fleeting instant–and then it’s gone, “I” can’t follow “it” anymore.

It must be a pretty amazing moment, if I could catch it.

There are so many interesting points to experiment with in meditation: the moment of waking up, or the quality of dreams (not the content, necessarily, but the feeling of being in a dream). I’m happy to hear what you experience of this.
